Honda Pilot: Performance Specs

performance specs

The 2021 Honda Pilot comes with a 3.5L V6 i-VTEC® engine that delivers 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission with shift-by-wire for smooth shifting on the road.

It comes standard in FWD (front-wheel-drive) and has an available Intelligent Variable Torque Managementâ„¢ AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. This AWD system will help you take on any type of road. You can also drive farther, as the Pilot achieves up to an EPA-estimated 20 city and 27 highway MPG when equipped with standard FWD.1

Furthermore, there’s the available Intelligent Traction Management system. With the push of a button, you can switch to snow mode in FWD models and snow, mud, and sand modes in AWD models. Either way, the Pilot will optimize handling based on the terrain you find yourself driving on.

Fold 60/40 split, flat-folding third-row bench seat down and space expands to 55.9 cubic feet. Honda Safety Technologies

Not only does the Pilot have reliable performance and a spacious interior, but it has lots of safety features, too.

You’ll get Honda Sensing® standard on all 2021 Pilot models. This suite of driver-assistive technologies will alert you to things you might miss while driving. Some of the features included in this suite are:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking Systemâ„¢: When this system senses an unavoidable frontal collision, it will help apply the brakes to mitigate damage or avoid an accident altogether.
  • Lane Keeping Assist System: If you start to drift from your lane without using a turn signal, the system will subtly adjust the steering. This is to keep the Pilot centered in your original lane.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control: This system helps maintain a set distance from the vehicle in front of you. Even if traffic begins to slow down, the system will adjust your speed to keep that preset distance.

Additionally, there is the available Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor. This uses radar sensors to detect vehicles in your blind spot. If one is there when you want to change lanes, you’ll be warned with a visual and audible alert.
