The 2022 Toyota RAV4 easily seats five, as well. However, its back row offers just 37.8 inches of legroom. Plus, with 98.9 cubic feet of passenger volume, you won’t have as much space to stretch out as you would in the CR-V.

Cargo space is also a bit limited in the RAV4. There’s 37.6 cubic feet of room behind the rear seats. Fold that row down, and the space expands to 69.8 cubic feet. The CR-V’s 39.2 cubic feet of space behind the back row is a bit roomier, and expands to a spacious 75.8 cubic feet with the seats folded down.

However, each SUV offers a hands-free power tailgate. This makes it easier to access the cargo area when your hands are full. Just swipe your foot under the rear bumper, and the tailgate will automatically open.

The Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 are known for having comfortable ride qualities and respectable handling.

The CR-V also has impressive engine options. It comes standard with a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. For excellent efficiency, there’s also the available hybrid powertrain made of a 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor that combine to deliver 181 horsepower.

The RAV4 also has two powertrains—a gas and hybrid option—that offer similar levels of power.

The 2022 CR-V and 2022 RAV4 have plenty of amenities to help keep your commutes enjoyable. For instance, they each offer heated front seats to help keep you cozy on particularly cold nights.

The RAV4 also offers an available 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, so you can get in a comfortable seating position behind the wheel. However, the CR-V offers a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 4-way power lumbar support. This will result in a more precise seating position to comfortably command the road.

The tech features in these SUVs are pretty similar. For instance, they both come standard with Bluetooth® technology to stream audio or make hands-free phone calls.
