Honda Civic Body Styles
Before we delve into the specs and features of the Honda Civic, we’ll start off by giving a brief look into its various body styles.
Whether you opt for the sedan, hatchback, or coupe, you’ll have a vehicle that fits your lifestyle to a T.
The Civic Sedan is the classic 4-door version of this Honda model. It has an edgy, sleek style with C-shaped LED taillights and bold body colors, such as Rallye Red and Aegean Blue Metallic.
Inside the vehicle, you’ll find a sophisticated-looking cabin along with high-tech features, including Honda LaneWatch™. Plus, with the standard Honda Sensing® suite of driver-assisting technologies, you can have peace of mind wherever you roam.
Like the sedan, the Honda Civic Hatchback has room for five. However, it offers more cargo volume than the previously mentioned model.
When all the seats are upright, you’ll have 25.7 cubic feet of cargo space to work with. Fold down that back row, and you’ll have 46.2 cubic feet for luggage, small pieces of furniture, sports equipment, and more.
We start to break away from the pack with the Honda Civic Coupe. This model has two doors and a fastback roofline, which speak to its athletic nature.
Its athletic build continues throughout the exterior, where you’ll find sharp bodylines and a long wheelbase of 106.3 inches.
LED headlights with auto-on/off are available, too. All in all, you’ll have a vehicle that looks sporty, even when it’s standing still.
Civic Si Sedan
Next up is the Honda Civic Si Sedan. This automobile was born for the racetrack. With a 450-watt sound system and bright red stitching, it’s fun to look at and drive around.
Outside, you’ll find race-inspired details, such as 18-inch alloy wheels and a gloss-black grille. The angular body lines are striking in any light, and the wing spoiler makes the car stand out even more on the road.
Civic Type R
Finally, there’s the Honda Civic Type R, the more athletic hatchback. Between its aggressive-looking front bumper and race-inspired cockpit, the vehicle makes a powerful statement—both inside and out.
The car is quite powerful, too. It comes with a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that churns out 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Plus, with the 3-Mode Drive System, the suspension, steering, and throttle response will all be adjusted—giving you an optimal performance behind the wheel at all times.
Honda Civic Specs
With sporty handling dynamics and comfortable ride quality, the standard Honda Civic is a true joy to drive. It has a strong lineup of powerful engines, including an available 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder that delivers 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque.
The vehicle has great fuel economy, as well. When equipped with a continuously variable transmission, the Honda Civic can achieve an EPA-estimated 32 city/42 highway MPG in the EX and EX-L trims.* Whether you have long work commutes or love taking trips to the Jersey Shore, the Civic can really go the distance.
Honda Civic Interior Space
The real magic of the Civic lies within. It may be a compact car, but it has lots of space for five passengers as shown by the following interior dimensions:
- Front headroom/legroom:3 inches/42.3 inches
- Rear headroom/legroom:1 inches/37.4 inches
- Passenger volume:8 cubic feet
There’s lots of trunk space, too. With 15.1 cubic feet of cargo room, you can easily fit your grocery bags, sports equipment, or any other personal belongings inside.
Plus, with the available 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback, you can fit larger items inside the vehicle when both sides are down. The other option is to fold down just one side to fit items while still leaving room for a backseat passenger.
Honda Civic Trim Levels
The Honda Civic has five trim levels to choose from: the LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring. Each trim has lots of features to help make your trips more enjoyable.
For example, the LX has Bluetooth® capability. With this feature, you can stream audio or make phone calls while keeping your hands on the steering wheel and your eyes on the road ahead.
The Sport has an infotainment system that includes a 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen and an 8-speaker sound system. This infotainment system, combined with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, means you can easily jam along to your favorite tunes.
The EX has heated front seats to help you stay cozy on cold nights. Plus, the EX-L has leather-trimmed seating with an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, so you can get in that perfect position behind the wheel.
The Touring is the highest trim level and has a Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™. With voice recognition and Honda HD Digital Traffic, you’ll have no issues getting to your destination.
