Plus, when paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), the vehicle can achieve an EPA-estimated 32 city/42 highway MPG.*

The 2018 Mazda3, meanwhile, comes standard with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that puts out 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. However, the vehicle can only achieve an EPA-estimated 28 city/37 highway MPG.

Interior Space & Amenities

The Civic and Mazda3 have plenty of space for up to five passengers. The Civic offers 42.3 inches of front legroom, 37.4 inches of rear legroom, and 97.8 ft3 of total passenger volume. The Mazda3, in comparison, has 42.2 inches of front legroom, 35.8 inches of rear legroom, and 96.3 ft3 of passenger volume.

Plus, the Civic has a 15.1 ft3 trunk for when you need room for grocery bags, luggage, or other items. The Mazda has just a 12.4 ft3 trunk, so you may not be able to fit everything you need inside this vehicle.

To stay nice and warm on colder days, both vehicles offer heated front seats, but the Civic also has available heated rear seats, to help keep everyone cozy.

And to get in that perfect position behind the steering wheel, the Honda Civic has an available 8-way power adjustment driver's seat. The Mazda3, on the other hand, offers a 6-way power adjustable driver's seat.
